More Studio work

This Blob of clay sat in the bathroom under the sink wrapped up in a towel and plastic bag for about 2 years. It became very hard and moldy... MOLD is not necessarily a bad thing for clay.. It is actually a good thing. I took it out to the studio and soaked it in a bucket of water.. whilst in a bag.. had I soaked it ... in just water it would have become liquid. I then began to carve.
This is just after I got done carving it,And this is it after it's dried a bit. With part of it removed.. I didn't like the little ice cream cone tree. I have also added some Red Iron Oxide to the trees to give them some color

Close up of the detail and interiour.. dark.. lol
Most of the time my groves have lots of little rooms. I like for them to be able to hold either incense or tea lites. I feel like these are almost sacred spaces.

This is a pitcher that I made... without the handle. They vessel has to get a certain amount of hardness before you can handle it to attach the handle. I took the piece down to the booth before taking a picture of it. I'll try to get a pic to post up here with the raw clay.

I'll also get a shot of the other grove in the previous post-- finished.

You are a genius in clay lady! I love the idea of your "groves". I'd like to see a picture of a glazed "grove" one day. By the way - hello!
